Web.com Tour ChampionshipWhile Charley Hoffman, former Deutsche Bank Champion, was winning the OHL Classic at Mayakoba on Sunday in Mexico, the Web.Com Stage 2 Q School had wrapped up three of it’s Second Stage events.

Thus far, Cameron Wilson of Rowayton CT built enough of a cushion over the first three rounds of the second stage to withstand a final-round 75, finishing T-8th to advance to the finale in December. Wilson won the 2014 NCAA Division I individual championship playing for Stanford and also qualified for this year’s U.S. Open.

Other Team New England hopefuls who have qualified for Final Stage Q School thus far include Mike Welch, Quincy, MA., Mike Bello of Stamford, CT. and David Pastore, Greenwich, CT.

Jesse Smith of Dover, NH. and Jeff Hatten from Farmington, CT have made it through Stage 1 and will be suiting up at one of the three remaining Stage 2 Q School venues in Florida and California this week. Those final three events will be played November 18-21.

The Q School Finals of the Web.Com Final Q School move from PGA West in California to Florida this year. Getting underway December 11th, the grueling six day event will be played over the PGA Natonal Fazio and Champion courses at Palm Beach Gardens, the home of the PGA of America.

It certainly looks like we may have several new members of Team New England’s Web.Com Tour contingent by mid December so stay tuned.
